	Welcome		Cold enough for ya? The Coney Island Polar Bear Club is the oldest winter bathing organization in the United States. We swim in the Atlantic Ocean at Coney Island every Sunday from November through April. JOIN THE CONEY ISLAND POLAR BEAR CLUB IN OUR ANNUAL NEW YEAR’S DAY SWIM NEW YEAR’S DAY: Assemble on the Boardwalk at Stillwell Avenue, Coney Island. SWIM TIME 1:00 PM SHARP, arrive early. DIRECTIONS, click here. BRING WARM CLOTHES, SURF BOOTS OR OLD SNEAKERS,TOWELS AND DEFINITELY BRING YOUR CAMERA. The NYC Parks Department provides changing facilities on the Boardwalk at Stillwell Avenue. THERE IS NO FEE FOR SWIMMERS OR OBSERVERS, but we encourage all participants to make a voluntary donation to our partner Camp Sunshine PLEDGE AND PLUNGE: Make a donation to Camp Sunshine and receive a free breakfast and all-day admission to the New York Aquarium PLEDGE ONLINE: www.freezinforareason.com or in person on New Year’s Day, Take the plunge with Planet Green and Martin Strel, four-time world record holding endurance swimmer and star of the documentary film Big River Man airing on Planet Green Saturday, January 9 at 10pm ET. Join New York Cares, Camp Sunshine, and the Coney Island Polar Bear Club for the 2010 New Year's Day Polar Dip! We'll be collecting the very last coats on the Coney Island Boardwalk and cheering on more than 800 plungers (including three New York Cares staff members) as they take a dip in the icy waters			Want to join us for a swim or become a member?
