Cold enough for ya?

The Coney Island Polar Bear Club is the oldest winter bathing organization in the United States. We swim in the Atlantic Ocean at Coney Island every Sunday from November through April.


JOIN THE CONEY ISLAND POLAR BEAR CLUB AND CAMP SUNSHINE AT OUR ANNUAL NEW YEAR’S DAY SWIM

$20 SUGGESTED DONATION to Camp Sunshine for each participant

NEW YEAR’S DAY:
Assemble on the Boardwalk at Stillwell Avenue, Coney Island.

SWIM TIME 1:00 PM SHARP, arrive early.

BRING WARM CLOTHES, SURF BOOTS OR OLD SNEAKERS,TOWELS AND DEFINITELY BRING YOUR CAMERA. The NYC Parks Department provides changing facilities on the Boardwalk at Stillwell Avenue.


REGISTER AND PLEDGE HERE or in person on New Year’s Day.

Don't get caught waiting in line! Register today, make a minimum $20 donation and you get express registration and entry into the earliest plunge wave. Any plunger raising $100 or more will receive a highly coveted, limited edition, long sleeve Freezin' for a Reason Event Shirt.

THERE IS NO FEE FOR SWIMMERS OR OBSERVERS, but we encourage all participants to make a voluntary donation to our partner Camp Sunshine
